In our series of Employee Spotlights, you get to meet our Unifii team members! This month we head over to the Scottish office to meet Paul Donnelly in Edinburgh!
Hi I’m Paul! I am Unifii’s Operations Director and I also head up our Scottish Office here at Unifii. I have been working with ServiceNow since 2014 when I introduced the platform into the NHS in Scotland, I then joined Unifii in 2017 to help customers ‘north of the Watford gap’!
How did you become interested in the industry and how did you stumble upon Unifii?
I stumbled into IT by chance when I was recommended to do a HND in Computing. In my first role I was working in a two person IT team, and I soon moved on to working for NHS Education; this provided me with opportunities to grow my skills and the chance to deliver some cool cutting-edge technologies such as Identity Management, Virtualisation and DMZ technology. Towards the end of my career in the NHS, I moved into cloud management, this is when I was first introduced to ServiceNow, I fell in love with the platform and I have been working with it ever since! I then became aware of ServiceNow’s partner ecosystem through SNUGs and various other activities, and that’s how I met the guys at Service Integrators (now known as Unifii)!
What you enjoy the most about working at Unifii?
No two days at Unifii are ever the same and this keeps things very interesting! I get to work with brilliant clients, colleagues, and partners, which is a feat in itself. The best thing for me personally is that I get challenged on a daily basis, and as a result I have grown as a person whilst continuing to learn more about the platform, industry and our clients.
What has been the most exciting project you have worked on in your time here?
There are so many, but getting to see our dedicated Unifii team deliver amazing outcomes for our clients as well as the power ServiceNow gives to our clients and the continued growth it allows them to achieve as an organisation. It truly is a great feeling when a client says, ‘wow I didn’t know it could do that’, and it makes our hard work worth it!
Did your working life change much as a result of COVID-19?
The biggest change I faced was how I had to adapt as a leader within Unifii. I’m a people person so not having face-to-face contact with the team was hard! Despite this, we adapted and were still able to work collaboratively and help each other virtually. The team in Edinburgh has grown by 40% since this FY and I’ve still not had the opportunity to meet a lot of them, I look forward to this hopefully later this year!
How do you see yourself growing in the next few years?
2020 brought a lot of growth to Unifii, as many of our clients accelerated their digital transformation due to the knock-on effects of COVID-19. This year is already shaping up to be a similar year, I hope I can play a pivotal part in bringing success to our clients through their partnership with Unifii.
