In our series of Employee Spotlights, you get to meet our brilliant Unifii team members! This month we take a trip to Dublin to meet Andrea Wallace, our Head of Ireland - see what she had to say in our Q&A.
Hi, I’m Andrea! I’m Head of Unifii Ireland. I’ve been with the company since December 2018, but have worked on the ServiceNow platform since 2014 as a customer. Coming from the client side and then over to a partner of ServiceNow gives you a lot of helpful insight, it’s really helped me understand each client’s needs and how Unifii can provide maximum value to them.
How did you become interested in the industry?
Since day one of working on the ServiceNow platform I absolutely loved the software, and the endless ways that it can add value to a working environment. My own family used to get tired of me talking about it and how it could be so helpful even in our personal lives – I've even tried to workflow my kids’ school timetables and daily routines!
What you enjoy the most about working at Unifii?
I LOVE the spirit of the company; it actually makes me feel young again (I’m in my ‘40s so that’s always a bonus!). At first, I was on my own in Ireland, but never once felt isolated even though there’s the Irish sea between us and most of the staff. I still feel like we are in the same room on meetings, and it’s even better now that the team in Ireland is growing.
I’m dyslexic too, but not once have I felt that to be a hindrance to the company; I receive so much support when it comes to documentation (this is where I lack confidence). I’ve always thought of my dyslexia as a superpower: it allows me to see the bigger picture as I am very visual learner, and I do believe it has helped me in life. I’m grateful to work at a company who is behind me all the way!
What has been the most exciting project you have worked on in your time here?
I guess the most exciting and challenging (ongoing) project is building the brand here in Ireland, thanks to the support of Myles and Paul from Unifii, as well as ServiceNow, we have been able to grow our operations over here. Personally, I think we are doing a pretty great job! We have had the opportunity to work with some great Irish customers and I’m excited for us to keep growing the brand name over here.
Did your working life change much as a result of COVID-19?
My time spent working on projects wasn’t really affected as I was always someone who worked from home, but when it came to growing the Unifii name in Ireland during the pandemic, it was tough! Ireland normally has a very in-person way of doing business, and sometimes I find it strange that I can't just go and meet colleagues or a client for coffee (or a glass of vino, preferably!).
How do you see yourself growing in the next few years?
I'm so excited to be Head of the Ireland Office. It’s exhilarating to be part of this journey and helping this side of the business grow even further. I've been lucky enough to work with some inspiring managers, and I hope I can follow in their footsteps.
What do you do in your spare time?
I’m an outdoorsy country girl, a mother, a wife, and a music lover (this is beginning to sound like a song!). I have two kids, two cats, a dog and a husband – he often feels like this is the order it goes in too! Besides that, I am seriously missing my live gigs and cannot wait to get back to normality again so I can make up for lost time.
